Music in Schools Programme
Our Music in Schools Cambridge (bus) Programme, provides small group music lessons, in our purpose-built bus, or in a spare classroom or school space at your school.
Group lessons are provided during school hours, at select schools in Cambridge, as well as outside the Cambridge area. This allows for children who may not have the opportunity otherwise, due to travel and distance, to access music lessons during the week.
We provide all the instruments and equipment, the teachers, the music curriculum and we handle all of the payment and administration.
Our goal is to make lessons engaging, fun, and easily accessible for all students.

FAQ's
What is our Music-in-School programme?
We provide students with a range of music classes to choose from, at their own school, during the school day.
Each class is 30 mins long and is taught by one of our experienced music tutors.
When and where are the music lessons held?
Music lessons are held at your school*, in our purpose-built music bus, or in a spare classroom or workspace, during school hours.
Your school has the option of deciding which days and times best suit your school and class timetable.
* Group lessons are provided during school hours, at select schools outside of the immediate Cambridge area. This allows for children who may not have the opportunity otherwise, due to travel and distance, to access music lessons during the week.
Is this a curriculum based programme?
Enter your content...Yes, our music programme follows a set curriculum every week. Students work through our carefully constructed music and homework workbooks, and are awarded certificates as they progress through the different levels. Bonus rewards can be earned through the year for awesome prizes!
These music books are provided in class and are $28 each. As each book becomes available, students will be required to purchase the relevant instrument book for music lessons.
Are there opportunities to perform?
Yes definitely!
We will provide students with performance opportunities, at the end of the term, to showcase what they have learnt, to friends and family.
What is the cost?
Music-in-Schools Lesson Fees (by the term)
Costs stated are based on a standard 10 week school term, but will be adjusted each term based on the number of weeks classes are scheduled. Invoices are sent by the term, you can choose to pay in full or we do offer payment plan options of either 2 or 4 instalments through Ezidebit.
10 week term lesson costs
$185 per student
$155 sibling discount (for a sibling attending the same school, also taking lessons.)
$155 per student taking 2 or more classes.
Music Books

Admin Fee

What equipment do students need?
We will provide all equipment and instruments for each child to use during their lesson. However, if students have their own instrument, they are more than welcome to bring it along. We do recommend students have access to an instrument at home for practice.
Instruments can also be purchased through our online shop using the button below. We also offer instruments for hire. We now have a used instrument group page on our Ignite Arts Facebook page where people can donate or sell their pre-loved instruments to our Music in School and Ignite studio families.
